When it comes to shooters, you just can’t get past Fortnite or Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Now Fortnite gets a map that all Call of Duty Modern Warfare players should know exactly.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 had many popular maps. The map “Highrise” is at the top of the list. Now a Fortnite player has recreated the legendary map in the creative mode. It will soon be playable for everyone.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare: Highrise not in game – Fortnite player helps
The creative mode in Fortnite should already be familiar to fans. The new game mode allows you to be creative and build your own buildings and maps. With a variety of possibilities about houses, cities, sights, mini-games can be developed, which players can build themselves. Afterwards, you can share what you have built with your friends or make it available to the entire community. Epic Games will personally present and promote particularly good creations.
For example, it is possible to create jump and run games or create a playground with many secret locations for the popular mini-game “Search and Hide”. Some players already test their playing skills on the normal map. Also included is a killing using an Amazon Prime delivery*.
Fortnite’s Creative Mode is known for showing sometimes stunning and hair-sharp details of other popular games and their maps. But now a resourceful player has created something really special.
Creative minds have led the Call of Duty community into the past at Fortnite before. Fans of the shooter in Fortnite could fight against each other on replicas of Nuketown and Shipment. These cards never made it into the Battle Royale mode of the Epic Games game, but they did put a smile on the faces of many shooter fans.
The player Nellaf has once again aroused nostalgic feelings in many Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 games. Now players can immerse themselves in the Highrise card authentically with the help of the Creator and his masterpiece. For several reasons, the card has become one of the most popular in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.
Highrise is located on a skyscraper in New York City, looking down on the bustling city. From memorable spawn kills as you cross a building to the countless trick shots that took place on the cranes, Highrise quickly became a fan favorite in the Call of Duty community.
Now Nellaf has recreated the map in detail in Fortnite’s Creative Mode. The final result is almost indistinguishable from the original and makes players nostalgic about one of the most popular series parts: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Not without reason, a remaster is being considered for the shooter, which could still see the light of day in 2020.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare fans ride a wave of nostalgia in Fortnite
This masterpiece by Reddit user Nellaf is a stunning replica of the Modern Warfare 2 card. Not only has the exterior been seemingly redesigned to scale, but also the interior has been tinkered with great attention to detail.
This includes of course the huge crane next to the map and a helicopter on the large landing area in the middle of theHighrise map. The two office buildings were also recreated with great care and attention to detail. But if there are also teddy bears, as you can find in the original map, fans have to find out for themselves.
The Highrise map in Fortnite even attracted the attention of Robert Bowling, ex-developer and current community manager at Infinity Ward and accordingly responsible for the current Modern Warfare. He had worked on Call of Duty Modern Warfare during his time at the company.
The only drawback that could disturb Call of Duty players on the 1:1 replicated map is that Highrise in Fortnite of course can’t be played in first-person perspective. Whether streaming star Ninja, who is already enthusiastic about the current Fortnite Season 2*, will freak out completely in the next few days, remains to be seen.
Although the code for the map is not yet available, Nellaf will release it on the weekend around March 7th. Then the rest of the world will be able to take a trip back to the glory days of Modern Warfare 2.
